Obituary for Anita Louene "Dee Dee" Wright (Lloyd)

Anita L. Wright, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 6, 2020, she was 81 years old.

Anita, known as “Dee-Dee” by her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, was born August 11, 1938.

She was preceded in death by her parents O. W. Lloyd and Margarite LeMaster Lloyd.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Kenneth H. Wright, her children Kenda Rogers (Husband: James Rogers) Winni Price (Husband: Jeffery Scott Price), and Frank Wright (wife:Barbara), her sister, Judi Henderson, and her brother, Scott Lloyd, and her three grandchildren Jamie MacLean (Husband: Darren McLean), Andrea Morse (Husband: Maxwell Morse), and Kaitlin Price (Husband: Stephen Knipe II) and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a resident of Falling Waters, WV where she resided in the house she was born in, during her 63, years of marriage. She was a lifetime member of Harmony United Methodist Church, where she was baptized and later married there on November 22, 1956. She was a member of the Shenandoah Valley DAR: Shepherdstown/Hedgesville Chapter and Eastern Star.

In 1956 she graduated Martinsburg High School. She was employed with West Virginia Tourism from 1979-2001; and was very proud to inform travelers about all the wonderful experiences her beloved Mountain State had to offer. She loved nature, butterflies and birds, with a particular fondness for the State Bird of West Virginia, the Cardinal. Anita and her family want to extend thanks to Dr. Karen Rudolph for her professional and attentive medical care, Pastor Chuck Donivan, and her husband and children for their love, care and support.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.

Interment will be private.

Her family was blessed beyond measure to have had her in our lives. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, parent, teacher, best friend, and the greatest “Dee-Dee” ever.
