George Gilbert DeHaven, 59, of Gerrardstown, passed away at home on Monday, September 28, 2020.
Born January 19, 1961, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Calvin Lee DeHaven and Anna Grace Radcliff DeHaven.
George was a very friendly and giving man who loved his family, especially watching basketball with his sons, pets and liked helping people. He liked following politics, music, and studying archeology and genealogy. He also enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, gardening, and grilling out. He worked for Leonard’s Masonry as a mason.
He is survived by his companion of 23 years, Tracey Lynn Ruble; two sons: Joshua Lee DeHaven, and significant other Lindsey Rebecca Payton, and Calvin Lee DeHaven, all at home; one daughter, Samantha Grace DeHaven, and significant other Brian Mitchell Basore, of Bunker Hill; his children’s grandparents, Rebecca and Mervil “Ray” Ruble, two brothers: Blaine DeHaven, and wife Linda, of Prospect, Virginia, and Dane DeHaven, and wife Connie, of Bunker Hill, and one sister, Esther Dawn DeHaven Schilling, of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Pastor Rich Sherrard officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel.
