Obituary for Irene Catherine Smith (Stelmack)
Irene Catherine Smith, 95, of Martinsburg, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020.
Born on March 1, 1925 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Josephine Chager Stelmack.
She is survived by two sons, James R. Smith of Hedgesville, and Steven C. Smith of FL.; and five daughters, Connie J. Beavers of Martinsburg, Cathy L. Grimm of Pa., Lisa D. Hutzler of Gerrardstown, Anita Thompson of Inwood, and Judy Rae Smith of Inwood; 22 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard David Smith, Sr.; three sons, Charles D. Smith, Michael W. Smith and Richard D. Smith, Jr.; six daughters, Vickie L. Lamp, Rebecca J. Mickelinc, Beverly A. Smith, Barbara G. Smith, Pamela S. Smith, and Cynthia K. Smith; and one sister, Jane Heflin.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home. The funeral home will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
