Obituary

Obituary for Isabelle Sevella Masters (Wasson)

Isabelle Sevella (Wasson) Masters, 99, entered her eternal home on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Grenich Care Home.

Born July 8, 1921 in Berkeley Co., she was the daughter of the late Charles Crumell & Mary Agnes (Newbraugh) Wasson.

Isabelle loved her Lord and Savior. She was a former member of the Leetown Church of the Brethren in Jefferson County. She was a parishioner of First Baptist church in Inwood where she was a Sunday School secretary for several years and was involved in the women’s group until her health declined. She was an avid follower of Billy Graham and had the opportunity later in life to visit the Billy Graham Library twice and stayed at the Cove.

She enjoyed baking cakes and pies to give away as gifts

She is survived by one daughter, Betty D. Elliott of Martinsburg; two grandchildren, Dusty Elliott (Rhonda) and Tim Elliott (Barbie); and four great grandchildren, Paige, Ethan, Madison, and Mason Elliott.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles Edgar Masters; two brothers, Ardel Wasson and Kenneth Wasson; and three sisters, Mabel Long, Evelyn Painter and Marjorie Carper.

The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2020. Visitors will be required to wear masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives. Mrs. Masters was one of the most gentle, kind, unselfish women I have encountered in life. Prayers for peace and comfort to her family as I know she will be greatly missed.
