Obituary for Jane P Gladden

Jane P. Gladden, 79 of Paw Paw, WV, died at home surrounded by her beloved husband and daughters under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Jane was born in American Samoa to the late Petelio Gi Faaloua and Siotalina Siliga.

She moved to San Diego, California with her father. It was there that she met her husband Dan in 1965 while he was active in the military. For Dan, it was love at first site. In 1978, she and Dan returned to Dan’s native home state of West Virginia, with 3 of their 4 daughters.

Jane was the most compassionate, giving, kindest, and sweetest woman. She was an amazing cook and was known for her Pork Fried Rice. No one ever left her home hungry. Her greatest attribute though was her unconditional love for her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jane was the exemplary wife and mother, her family was her greatest joy.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, H. Daniel Gladden, daughters, Sandra
(Fred) Williams of Bunker Hill; Dalisay Olaes of Bunker Hill; Danita Gladden of Bunker
Hill; and Danesia (Gary) Chicchirichi of Charles Town; grandchildren, Alexander Canby,

Chicchirichi, Monique Acuna-Offet, Christine Acuna, and step granddaughter, Alexus
Butler; great grandchildren, Taelyn, Gracelynn, and Bayne. Jane was also a mother to a
special foster son, Aaron O’ Reilly; nieces, Deborah Curtis and Billie Bess, who
she helped raise. Care provider and second mom to many other children that came into
her life over the years. She also survived by her last living sibling, Uvale Bess of Lake
Worth, Texas and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gino Acuna; siblings, Matea Anspach, Pese
Asuega, Siatalima Kilisi, Sailiouta Kilisi, Pepe Kilisi, Eneliko Petelo, and Tuinan Siligia.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Panhandle for the exceptional care and
