Obituary for Jeffrey Ray Ramey
Jeffrey Ray Ramey, 58, of Hedgesville, born December 8, 1961, son of Ray C. and Lois J. Ramey, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 10:55 a.m.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as a Postal Clerk with the U.S. Postal Service.
Jeffrey was the most gentle “Big Bear”, a fan of old western and Bruce Lee movies, a collector of cowboy hats and knives, had a passion for American Bald Eagles and NASCAR racing, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. He especially loved spicy foods.
Jeff is survived by: his parents, Ray and Lois Ramey; his sister and her husband, Vincent and Patricia Destajo of Washington, D.C.; his wife, Sandra Burriss Ramey of Hedgesville, WV; his son Travis Ramey of Hedgesville, WV; his four daughters and their spouses, Oleg and Tina Borchevski of Martinsburg, WV, Roger and Cassandra Flores of Salisbury, NC, and Candice and Krystal Ramey of Hedgesville, WV; and his fourteen grandchildren; Alanis, Aaliyah, Jazmin, Nicolas, Leon and Annorarose Borchevski, Lijia, Marietta, Bianca and Roger Flores, Jordynn and Blaine Ramey; Layla Ramey and Christopher Tomblin.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Ray Ramey, Jr.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at The Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, 287 Arden Nollville Rd., Inwood, WV 25428. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
Interment will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery located at 372 Dominion Road, Gerrardstown, WV 25420.
