Obituary for Lindsay Sherman

Lindsay Sherman, 78, of Hedgesville passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born April 27, 1942 in Bath, NY he was the son of the late James E. and Shurleigh D. Allmon Sherman.

He is was a graduate of Muncie Central High School and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was an avid fan of the Martinsburg Bulldogs, Baltimore Orioles, and the Baltimore Ravens. He traveled near and far to watch his grandchildren show cattle, barrel race, and participate in sports. No matter the size of the crowd you could always hear his voice above the rest. He was a member of the Martinsburg Elks Lodge #778, Martinsburg Moose Lodge #120, and the Williamsport Red Men Tribe #84.

He was a veteran of the US Army having served in 1965-1968. He had worked for General Motors for thirty plus years.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Janet Knott Sherman; daughter Kathy Sherman and wife Monica, daughter Stacey McFarland and husband Jim, son Michael Sherman and wife Shanda, step-daughter Cassandra Edwards and husband Dennis, and stepson Matt Grove; and his pride and joy six grandchildren, Logan, Jared, Mackenzie, Haylee, Patrick, and Peyton.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy, Dennis, and Bob Sherman.

The Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 2:00PM at the South Berkeley Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ken Walker officiating. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
