Obituary for Nicholas Paul Cheremisinoff PhD

Dr. Nicholas P. Cheremisinoff passed in the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 9, 2020. He is survived by the love of his life Tatyana, his son, Anton, his daughter Linda and his first son Paul. He is preceded in death by his brother Peter, his mother Louise Nappi and his father Dr. Paul Cheremisinoff.

Dr. Cheremisinoff was a chemical engineer, who graduated from Clarkson College of Technology, where he received his PhD, MS and BS. He was one of the most prolific authors in the petrochemical industry. Throughout his career he wrote close to two hundred books and traveled the world, training industry and regulatory personnel on safe environmental management practices.

He worked tirelessly for decades over a broad spectrum of projects with emphasis on pollution reduction and management. Dr. Cheremisinoff was a sought-after consultant all over the globe, working with groups, like the World Bank Group, the US Trade and Development Agency, the US Agency for International Development, the European Union and the US Department of Energy.

Beyond his love for family and a passion for improving the world, he was well known for his wonderful sense of humor and love of the arts and fine cognacs.

Services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 12 p.m. at the Jefferson Chapel, 114 N. Mildred Street, Ranson, WV 25438. Interment at 1:30 p.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown, WV

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Saint Catherine Orthodox Church 433 Liberty Street, Hagerstown, Maryland.
