Obituary for Randy Gene Kerns
Randy Gene Kerns, 58, of Martinsburg went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2020.
Born November 25, 1961 in Berkeley County, WV he was the son of the late Edgar Eugene Kerns, Sr. and Dorothy Marie Hite Kerns.
He had been a postmaster and Attendance Officer in the Region. He loved his co-worker families at the post offices and Two Crows Antique Mall. He was a volleyball referee in Jefferson and Berkeley Counties. He also was a referee and enthusiast of the Hedgesville Swim Team.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Valerie Swain Kerns; one daughter, Maggie Marie Kerns of Martinsburg; two brothers, Edgar E. Kerns (Mary) of Capon Bridge, William E. Kerns and wife, Tami of Gerrardstown; four sisters, Marie Faircloth and husband, Gerald of Gerrardstown, Mae Faircloth and husband, Lonnie of Gerrardstown, Sandra Ann Barry and husband, John of Falling Waters, and Teresa L. Foster of BunkerHill; and many nieces and nephews.
The Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel will be open for family to receive friends only from the hours of 3:00PM to 5:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, August 20, 2020. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 1:00PM at the South Berkeley Chapel with Pastor Don Cherry officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
