Obituary

Obituary for Sharon Patricia Savieo

Sharon Patricia (Hake) Savieo, 89, of Martinsburg passed away quietly in her sleep on Friday, October 16, 2020, at her residence with her family at her side.

Born February 2, 1931 in Zulu, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Hake and Violet (Small) Hake.

During her life, Sharon and her husband Gene made many friends all over the country, while spending time living in California, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and most recently Keyser, WV, before settling near their grandkids in Martinsburg, WV.

Sharon always enjoyed cross-stitch, reading, and working crossword puzzles. And her love for ice cream and other junk food was legendary – her freezer was always filled with “fudgesicles” and many other ice cream treats.

Sharon will be especially missed by her lifelong friend, Rosie Beauchot, of Monroeville, IN, and her “sister by heart” Beverly Zittle, of Martinsburg, WV.

Sharon was recently preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, and husband of 66 years, Eugene Charles “Gene” Savieo, in April 2020.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheryl Zittle; a son-in-law, Rick Zittle; and her two beloved grandchildren, Jake and Katie.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Karen Keifrider, of Douglasville, Pennsylvania, Renee Kent, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kim Myers, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Nancy Leach, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Nelle Gerardot, of Woodburn, Indiana, Judy Douglas, of Maplewood, Minnesota, Mike Reuille, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Doug Hake, of New Haven, Indiana, Kent Reuille, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, and Shawn Reuille, of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters Mary Jane Reuille, Jeanette Lortie, and Nelle Hake, one brother, Jim Hake, a niece, Joyce Williams, and a nephew, Scott Reuille.

She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, in Keyser, WV.

The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends from the hours of 6:00PM to 8:00PM only on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.

Upon cremation Sharon will be transported to Monroeville, Indiana, and laid to rest beside her husband.
